vertrouwen...

According to a recent study by Adweek and JWT, only
14% of people say they “have respect for ad people”
(just beating out politicians at 10%). Another reveals
that 61% of people feel the amount of marketing and
advertising is out of control, and 72% say “I am tired
of people trying to grab my attention and sell me
stuff.” So is advertising getting worse, or are people
getting more cynical? Maybe a little of both because,
as people have become more technology-savvy and
media-literate, the competition for their attention has
spilled over into some places where advertising may
never be acceptable. In these unwelcoming environments,
there is a fine line between a clever idea and a
blatant case of attention abuse, and advertisers must
realize that just because everything can be media for
an idea doesn’t mean that everything should be.
